TSOA is located at Cattle Track Arts Compound in Scottsdale, AZ, a dynamic arts community and historic campus. Students work within an intimate studio environment, with access to shared woodshop, gallery, and event spaces at Cattle Track, sharing a culture of experimental building with its vibrant community of artists in residence. The arts compound was founded by George Ellis, an engineer and builder who was renowned for his innovative and resourceful use of local materials, and constructed Frank Lloyd Wright’s Rose Pauson house in Phoenix.
Cattle Track offers an ideal environment for students to experiment with building within a supportive community setting, serving as a springboard for individual experiments in design and building as a critical response to the most urgent environmental and societal issues of today.
TSOA is located a 5-minute drive from Downtown Scottsdale and is within Scottsdale's vibrant resort corridor. Numerous cultural, recreational, and culinary experiences are within a short biking or driving distance from the campus.
Since 2023, TSOA has partnered with Sonesta ES Suites to provide affordable and convenient housing options for students. Their Scottsdale/Paradise Valley location is a short distance (0.7 mi) from TSOA’s Cattle Track Arts.
